1 Clean the sealing surface on the end cover (54) and rear axle differential housing and coat with sealant.
2 Attach end cover.
Rear axle center assembly with bolts with captive washers
3 Fit bolts with captive washers and tighten .
Tighten bolts with captive washers.

Rear axle center assembly with flange bolts
4 Fit flange bolts and tighten , stage 1.
Use flange bolts.
5 Mark screw flange in relation to rear axle center assembly housing (a).
6 Put markings (b) on rear axle center assembly housing offset by 45°.
7 Tighten flange bolts with 45° tightening angle, 2nd stage. Marking (a) and (b) must then correspond.
The flange bolts can also be tightened using a commercially available angle gauge.
