Slide in assembly plate between bearing cap and rear axle shaft.

Insert rear axle shaft with assembly plate into press.

Press bearing cap with radial sealing ring and tapered roller bearing off the rear axle shaft.

Fit circlip on axle shaft.

Replace retaining ring, the flat side must point towards the slotted nut. The circlip is fitted in order to ensure that, when pressing-on, pressure is applied to the bearing inner race only. The anti-twist lock on the circlip must be aligned with the milled section of the axle shaft, otherwise the axle shaft will be damaged.

Guide rear axle shaft through bore in assembly plate

Insert rear axle shaft along with assembly plate into press.

Press tapered roller bearing onto rear axle shaft as far as the stop.

The bearing outer race must be rotated during the pressing-on procedure. To avoid damage to the bearing.
