Remove differential from rear axle housing

Mark installation position of bearing brackets (1).

 Mark the installation position of the bearing brackets (1) with left ("L") and right ("R") in order to prevent them from being mounted on the wrong side.

Unscrew screws/bolts (1s) and remove both bearing brackets (1).

Mark installation position of tapered roller bearing shells (2) and shims (3).

 Fasten spreader tool (01) using bolts (4s) to rear axle housing.

Gradually spread rear axle housing by turning the threaded rods (5) on the  spreader tool (01) far enough to enable the differential (6) to be lifted without any great force.

 The rear axle housing may not be spread apart too far.
Otherwise, the rear axle housing will be rendered unusable and it will have to be replaced.

Completely remove differential (6) with tapered roller bearing shells (2) and shims (3).

Release rear axle housing and  detach spreader tool (01).
