Remove/install rubber mount on semi-trailing arm

Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove rear wheels

Loosen link rod (4) of height sensor on one side

With code (LG0) bi-xenon headlamp or code (LG1) bi-xenon headlamp with corner-illuminating fog lamps

Support semi-trailing arm (1) using transmission jack (8)

Unscrew link rod (2) for anti-sway bar on semi-trailing arm (1)



Unscrew damper (3) on semi-trailing arm (1)



Unscrew bolts (6, 7)

 Installation: Install new nut (5). Only tighten the nut (5) slightly. Final tightening with tightening torque only takes place after adjusting the semi-trailing arm.



Unhook semi-trailing arm (1)

Press rubber mount out of semi-trailing arm (1)

 Press out rubber mount using  hollow cylinder (9) and  remover (10).



Moisten new rubber mount slightly with lubricant

Press in new rubber bushing

  Attach remover (10) to semi-trailing arm (1).  Mount hollow cylinder (9) with  threaded rod (13) and from the other side slide pull-in sleeve (14) with new rubber mount and  friction disks (11) onto  threaded rod (13).  Screw on nut (12) until it is flush in  insertion sleeve (14). Pull in rubber mount with  hollow cylinder (9). Check that rubber bushing is positioned centrally via inspection window in  remover (10).

 If the rubber mount was drawn in too far,  mount hollow cylinder (9) and  remover (10) as mating bearing on the opposite side and thus pull the rubber mount over the  threaded rod (13) in the correct position.


