Checking
1 Position dial indicator holder (3) and dial indicator (2) on rear wheel hub (1).
2 Position dial indicator tip against axle tube (4) with preload.
3 Set dial indicator (2) to "zero".
4 Ascertain wheel bearing play by rocking the rear wheel hub (1) back and forth (arrow).
If the specification is not achieved, adjust wheel bearing play.
Adjust
5 Unscrew outer slotted nut with claw wrench and remove locking plate.
Only if outer slotted nut is already installed.
6 Adjust wheel bearing play by slackening or tightening the inner slotted nut with the claw wrench.
With new tapered roller bearings aim for the lower specified value.
