Removing
1 Unlock outer slotted nut (1).
2 Unscrew outer slotted nut (1) using slotted nut wrench (2).

3 Remove locking plate
Adjust
4 Correct wheel bearing play.
The wheel bearing play can be changed by loosening or tightening the inner slotted nut. If the wheel bearing play is too small, loosen the inner slotted nut. If the wheel bearing play is too large, tighten the inner slotted nut. With new tapered roller bearings, aim for the lower setting.

Install
5 Insert new locking plate.
6 Tighten outer slotted nut (1) .
Do not twist the inner slotted nut any more when tightening the outer slotted nut (1)
7 Lock outer slotted nut (1).
