Remove the wheels

Remove the support with a brake caliper of the rear axle

Remove the semi-axle (7)

Unlock the locking plate (5) and remove the grooved nuts (6, 4)

Remove the guard plate (3)

Remove wheel hub (2) with the brake disc

 The inner race of the outer bearing will come out along with the wheel hub (2).

 Removal and installation tool

Remove the radial seal ring and the inner race of the inner bearing from the wheel hub (2)



Check

Check the race ring friction surface for wear and, if necessary, replace it

 The race ring should be removed and replaced in case it is damaged, worn or has grooves in the friction surface.

In case of damages, wear or furrows on the friction surface:



Replace the track ring.



Install

Install a new race ring in the rear axle (1)

If it had been necessary to replace the race ring.

Install the inner race of the inner bearing and the radial seal ring in the wheel hub (2)

 Use a new radial seal ring.

 Previously lubricate the bearing with grease recommended for wheel hubs.

Grease, DB supply specification 6804 - Class 267.0

Install wheel hub (2) with the brake disc

 Installation:
Install with care:
to not damage the seal ring or the thread of the axle.

 Lubricate with oil the contact surface of the race ring and of the radial seal ring

Install external bearing inner race and the stop washer (3)

 Previously lubricate the bearing with grease recommended for wheel hubs.

Grease, DB supply specification 6804 - Class 267.0

Install the grooved nut (4), the locking plate (5), and the grooved nut (6)

Adjust the wheel hub bearings axial clearance
