Check:

1 Place the holder (2) of the dial gauge (1) on the wheel hub.

2 Place the feeler of dial gauge (1), with some pre-load, on the stub axle.

3 Check clearance reading on dial, strongly pushing-in and pulling-out the wheel hub.

If the determined bearing clearance value is not attained, it will be necessary to adjust the axial clearance.

Adjusting

4 Turn the bearing fastening nut with the special wrench (l) until the axial bearing clearance is obtained.

For new taper roller bearings, try to obtain the smallest determined axial clearance value.

5 Check again the taper roller bearing clearance
