Install the  dial indicator holder together with the  dial indicator with a little pre-load.

Set the  dial indicator to "zero".

Determine the axial play of the wheel hubs' bearings, moving the wheel hub forward and backward. .

Remove the outer slotted nut with the lock plate, and adjust the wheel hub end play.

If the play value found is incorrect

Install the  claw wrench (15) on wheel hub.

 To avoid that the tool loosens during the tightening, lock the  claw wrench (15) with its screws on the wheel hub, letting some millimeters of play for the thread travel of the slotted nut that will be loosened. If necessary, also loosen gradually the tool screws on wheel hub little by little when loosening the slotted nuts.

Tighten the inner slotted nut wit the  claw wrench (15) to the specified tightening torque.

 Strike the wheel hub with a rubber hammer during the tightening procedure of the inner slotted nut for seating the bearings.

Loosen the inner slotted nut in the specified angle.

Install the  dial indicator holder together with the  dial indicator.

Set the  dial indicator to "zero".

Determine the axial play of the wheel hubs' bearings, moving the wheel hub forward and back. .

Install a new lock plate, and tighten the outer slotted nut to the specified tightening torque using the  claw wrench (15).  

Lock the lock plate by folding the edges over the two slotted nuts, inner and outer.
