While working on the rear axle (5) care must be taken to ensure that the surface of aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected

 Installation

Only tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components when vehicle is in a ready-to-drive condition.

Shift gear into "N" position

Switch off ignition

 Do not remove ignition key, otherwise the transmission will be shifted into position "P".

Raise vehicle with lifting platform until wheels are clear of the ground and secure



Remove fender liner in right rear fender

Remove left and right rear brake hose from brake line

 Attach brake caliper to vehicle without tension to relieve brake hose so that it is not damaged during repair.

Remove mechanical release cable (2) from filler fitting recess in right rear fender and expose

Remove exhaust system from flange connection back

Separate electrical connectors on rear axle (5) and expose feed lines

Clean

Clean electrical connector and its surrounding area at controller unit (A13)

 

Remove/install

Remove electrical connector cover from controller unit (A13)

Unlock electrical connector at controller unit (A13) separate and unclip feed line from rear axle carrier

Remove link rod (22) from rear axle level sensor (B22/3)
