2 | Remove interaxle differential lock indicator switch (2) | ||
3 | Detach compressed air line at cover (5) | ||
4 | Remove cover (5) | ||
5 | Remove shift piston (8) | Impact extractor | |

6 | Check cylinder liner (10) for damage | If there are score marks on the contact surface of the shift piston (8), the cylinder liner (10) must be replaced. | |
| Install | ||
7 | Install new sealing ring (7) on shift piston (8) | ||
8 | Apply synthetic grease to shift piston (8) on sealing surface and on contact surface of shim (9) and attach previous shim (9) to shift piston (8) | Synthetic grease 50 g | |
9 | Install shift piston (8) with previous shim (9) | Make sure that the shim (9) does not slip. | |
10 | Attach cover (5) with new seal (6) | The raised bead of the new seal (6) must point toward the cover (5) and the air connection of the cover (5) must point up toward the right. | |
