1 Clean mounting bore for seal boot and seat of support ring (arrow) on axle housing.

2 Attach half shells of the push-in device to metal housing of the radial shaft sealing ring and clip together.
The open side of the installation tool must rest on the support ring (arrow) of the seal boot.
3 Insert the drive shaft horizontally into the axle housing and press in until it abuts.
Do not hammer in drive shaft. When pressing in do not tilt the seal boot and support ring of the radial shaft sealing ring.

4 With the aid of a lashing strap or a chain and crowbar, press the drive shaft into the axle housing until an increase in resistance indicates that the support ring of the seal boot is touching the face of its seat.
The correct installed position of the support ring is reached when the
push-in device projects into the seat of the support ring so that it is no longer possible to remove both half shells from the radial shaft sealing ring.

5 Pull gently on the drive shaft to release the shells of the installation tool from the seat of the support ring (arrow).
6 Unclip the half shells from one another and remove the push-in device from the radial shaft sealing ring.
