1 Press locking ring (1) together and simultaneously drive out cylindrical roller bearing (2) of pinion head bearing using a suitable drift.
2 Remove locking ring (1) from cylindrical roller bearing (2).

3 Install locking ring (1) in groove in new cylindrical roller bearing (2).
4 Press locking ring (1) together and simultaneously drive in new cylindrical roller bearing (2) using a suitable drift.
The locking ring (1) must engage in the groove provided.

5 Remove locking ring (3).
6 Roughen inner race (4) of pinion head bearing and chop off using a chisel, taking care not to damage the pinion shaft.
7 Heat new inner race to approx. 80 °C and drive onto drive pinion using a suitable drift with the larger inside chamfer pointing towards the splines.
8 Install locking ring (3).
