Remove/install radial shaft sealing rings on side of front axle differential

Radial shaft sealing ring



Remove

Remove left or right front axle shaft.

Pry radial shaft sealing ring (1) out of front axle differential using suitable tool.


Do not damage the seating surface of the radial shaft sealing ring (1) in the front axle transmission.
Otherwise leaks may occur.



Check

3

Check sitting surface of radial shaft sealing ring (1) in front axle differential for damage.

If damage is found,



Replace front axle differential.

Install

Moisten sealing lip of radial shaft sealing ring (1) with transmission oil.



Do not oil sitting surfaces of radial shaft sealing ring (1) in front axle differential and on radial shaft sealing ring (1).
Otherwise leaks may occur.

Press new radial shaft sealing ring (1) into front axle differential using drift.
