 	Remove/install
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts	All models	AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1	Remove front axle shaft flange (6)	 Only if necessary, e.g. after an accident. Only remove angular roller bearing if necessary.	AR33.20-L-0315VA
2	Detach left front (L6/1) or right front (L6/2) wheel speed sensor from steering knuckle (5)	 Unclip and expose wiring harness at connecting point between steering knuckle and spring strut (1).

3	Pry the tie rod ball joint (9) off the steering knuckle (5)		AR46.40-L-0200-02VA

4	Unscrew suspension strut (1) from steering knuckle (5)	 Mark installed position of spring strut (1) with respect to steering knuckle (5).  Installation: Insert bolts (2), first tighten the lower then the upper nut (3) by hand. Then tighten first the lower nut and then the upper nut (3) to the specified tightening torque while countering the bolts (2).

5	Remove steering knuckle (5)
6	Press flange ball joint (4) off steering knuckle (5)		AR33.20-L-0446-01VA

7	Detach brake cover plate (8) from steering knuckle (5)	 Note installed position and mark if necessary. Installation: Caulk brake cover plate using center punch.
8	Check alignment of steering knuckle (5)	 Only if necessary, e.g. after an accident.	AR40.30-P-0451GC
9	Install in the reverse order
10	Perform a wheel alignment check		AR40.20-P-0200GC
