Detach circlip (9), toothed lock washer (8) and hexagon nut (7)

Pull off front wheel hub (3).



Remove thrust plate (5) and outer tapered roller bearing (4) from the front wheel
hub (3)

Remove radial sealing ring (1)

 When pulling off the front wheel hub (3) it is possible that part of the radial sealing ring remains on the steering knuckle and the other part remains in the wheel hub.

Remove inner tapered roller bearing (2)



Install

Grease inner tapered roller bearing (2) and insert into front wheel hub (3)

Install radial sealing ring (1) in the front wheel hub (3)



 Coat new radial sealing ring without rubberized external surface with sealant on outer circumference.

 Grease sealing lips

Push front wheel hub (3) onto steering knuckle

 In the process do not damage the radial sealing ring (1).

Grease outer tapered roller bearing (4) and insert into front wheel hub (3)

Insert thrust plate (5)

Tighten hexagon nut (7) securely until the tapered roller bearings abut with zero clearance

Front axle up to axle no. 143606.

 When tightening, rotate the front hub (3) and apply a few blows diagonally to the front wheel hub using a rubber hammer.



Tighten clamping nut (14) until all play is eliminated from tapered roller bearing seat

Front axle as of axle no. 143607.

 When tightening, rotate the front hub (3) and apply a few blows diagonally to the front wheel hub using a rubber hammer.



Check and adjust wheel bearing play
