Remove/install rubber bushing on transverse control arm

Danger!

Risk of injury caused by rubber mounts and bearing parts coming loose during installation/removal and shooting wildly through the air

Shield hazard area with suitable catch device (basket, grate box). Also ensure that no unauthorized persons are present in the hazard area.

Remove/install rubber bushing on transverse control arm

S35.20-4500-02

Removing

1 Position transverse control arm with sleeve (3) and drift (1) in the workshop press.

2 Press rubber mount (4) out of transverse control arm.

Remove/install rubber bushing on transverse control arm

Install

3 Clean bearing seat of rubber mount (4) in transverse control arm and check for wear and damage.

If necessary, replace transverse control arm.

4 Coat new rubber mount (4) and bearing seat of rubber mount (4) in transverse control arm with lubricant.

5 Position transverse control arm with sleeve (2), rubber mount (4) and drift (1) into workshop press.

6 Press rubber mount (4) into transverse control arm. Finally, check seat of rubber mount (4) in transverse control arm, if necessary, press rubber mount (4) further in.
