Remove/install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Detach lower engine compartment paneling

Remove torsion bar (10)

 The torsion bar (10) must be removed due to the accessibility of the nuts of the lower transverse control arm (4) on the front axle carrier.

Detach suspension strut (40) at top of C-bracket (40e)



Detach brake line bracket on C-bracket (40e)

Detach C-bracket (40e) on lower transverse control arm (4)

If necessary

 Check ball joint boot in lower transverse control arm (4) for damage and replace lower transverse control arm if necessary.

 Installation: The bolts (40f), after being turned in, must be flush with the C-bracket (40e) or be slightly recessed into it.



Detach lower wishbone (4) from front axle carrier

 When repair kit is installed: The hexagon bolt must not be turned. When loosening the nut, the hexagon screw must be counterheld, as the fixing lugs for caster adjustment in the rubber mount are otherwise sheared off.

Installation: Observe installation position if repair bolts have already been installed. Install repair bolts and washers in the same position again.

 Installation: Do not tighten nuts until vehicle is ready to roll.


