Pulling off inner bearing race

If the angular ball bearing is irreparably damaged when pulling off the front axle shaft flange (5), the inner bearing race (5d) that remains on the front axle shaft flange (5) must be pulled off.

1 Use a suitable tool (chisel) to make a gap approx. 1- 2 mm wide between the front axle shaft flange (5) and the inner bearing race (5d).

Deburr the hole.

The gap is used to position the collet chuck (068).

2 Fit collet chuck (068) on inner bearing race (5d).

3 Fit thrust piece (069) on front axle shaft flange (5).

4 Screw device (067) firmly onto collet chuck (068) and pull off inner bearing race.
