Remove boot between upper charge air duct and air filter housing and detach charge air duct from cylinder head cover

 Two adaptations are to be used when the transmission is removed.

 Adaptation of engine lifting device

Mount preassembled engine lifting device (01) on strut towers and longitudinal member


Operate carefully in the area of the longitudinal members.
Otherwise, hoses and lines can be crushed.


Position the engine hoist (01) carefully.
Otherwise, the surfaces in the area of the suspension strut tower may get scratched, cracked or notched.

 The support of the engine hoist (01) must be mounted so the firmly seated spacer sleeve (arrow) points outwards.

 Observe the manufacturer's assembly specifications and safety information.

Adjust engine lifting device (01) and tighten bolted connection

Mount shackle (2) on the engine suspension lug (1)

Pretension lifting device (3); to do so tighten the clamping screw (4)

 Where several lifting device are used they must be uniformly aligned.
