Remove

1

Remove left front engine compartment lining.

Release and disconnect electrical connectors (2, 3) at AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1).

Open holder (5) and unhook air intake hose (4).

Unhook holder (8) on AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1).

Detach air intake hose (4) from AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1) and seal openings using suitable stop plugs.

 Record plug

Remove pressure line connection (6) from AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1) and seal openings using suitable stop plugs.

 Record plug

Unscrew nuts (7) and remove AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1) downwards.



Check

8

Check holder (10) and threaded rods (9) for damage.

If there is a problem,



Replace bracket (10).

Check elastomer bearings (8a) for damage and wear.

If there is a problem,



Replace the elastomer bearings (8a).

Install

Place washers (8b) onto elastomer bearings (8a).

Push compression springs (8d) onto protective sleeves (8c).

Position protective sleeves (8c), together with compression springs (8d), in elastomer bearings (8a).

Position AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1) and tighten nuts (7).

Remove all stop plugs.

Attach pressure line connection (6) to AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1).


The thread on pressure line connection (6) must not be damaged.
Otherwise, leaks will occur.



Repair pressure line connection (6).

Push air intake hose (4) onto AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1).

Hook holder (8) onto AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1).

Hook air intake hose (4) into holder (5) and close.

19

Connect and lock electrical connectors (2, 3) at AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1).

20

Replace AIR BODY CONTROL relay.

When replacing AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1).



Perform an engine test run and check air suspension for proper operation.

Check all compressed-air connections at AIR BODY CONTROL compressor (A9/1) for leak tightness.
