1 | Open spare wheel well cover | ||
2 | Remove cover from control unit carrier | ||
3 | Detach black, 22-pin connector (2) from trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) | ||
4 | Detach electrical connection from vehicle interior/trailer hitch (X58/33) | ||
5 | Raise vehicle | ||
6 | Detach wiring harness for trailer hitch socket (1) from ball neck and from trailer hitch cross member | ||
7 | Remove trailer socket | ||
8 | Remove wiring harness for trailer hitch socket (1) from control unit carrier | ||
9 | Release rubber grommet (arrow) on rear center section | ||
10 | Route wiring harness for trailer hitch socket (1) and rubber grommet (arrow) outwards through the opening in the rear center section | ||
11 | Install in the reverse order | ||
| Check | ||
12 | Perform function check on trailer hitch with electrical release | ||
13 | Perform function test of light signals at trailer hitch socket | ||
