Disassemble

Disassemble the transmission into its main components

Disassemble output shaft with center and rear gear set

Remove snap ring (1) from external plate carrier (11)

Take clutch pack (A) and disk spring (6) out of external plate carrier (11)

Check multiple-discs for scorch marks and wear.

Place assembly device on the spring plate (8) until the snap ring (7) is exposed

Remove the snap ring (7) and detach the assembly device

Remove spring plate (8) and piston (9) from the external plate carrier (11).

Assemble

Install piston (9) in the externally toothed disk carrier (11)

Inspect seal (10), replace if necessary.

Observe installation position: The rounded edges of the sealing ring must point outwards.

Insert spring plate (8).

Observe installation position: Cone towards the piston.

Position snap ring (7)

Observe installation position: Collar of snap ring towards disk pack.

Place assembly device on spring plate (8) and tension until the groove in the snap ring (7) is exposed

Insert the snap ring (7) and detach the assembly device

Observe installation position: Collar of snap ring towards disk pack.

Insert disk spring (6), clutch pack (A) and snap ring (1) in the externally toothed disk carrier (11) and measure the disk play

Pay attention to sequence of disks.
