Remove

Remove multidisk brake B3.

Disassemble

Remove retaining ring (105s).

Remove end disk (105).

Remove clutch pack (5).

Remove disk spring (5t).

Place outer plate carrier (15a) into lever-type hand gun.

 Commercially available devices/tools
Lever-type hand gun

Place thrust device onto disk spring (15t).

  Position thrust device precisely (arrow). This enables later removal of the retaining ring (15s).

Actuate lever-type hand gun until the retaining ring (15s) is exposed.


Stop lever press stroke as soon as accessibility is sufficient.
Excess force can cause damage.

Remove retaining ring (15s) from groove.

Reset hand lever press.

Remove thrust device and outer plate carrier (15a) from lever-type hand gun.

Remove retaining ring (15s).

Remove disk spring (15t).

Remove piston (15k) from outer plate carrier (15a).



Check

Check clutch pack (5) for scorch marks and wear.

If scorch marks or worn disks are visible.



Replace affected disks.

Check piston (15k) and vulcanized seal for damage.

If corresponding findings are present,



replace piston (15k).

Check outer plate carrier (15a) for damage.

If corresponding findings are present,



replace outer plate carrier (15a).



Assemble

Lay new disks at least 1 h in transmission oil.

When replacing the disks.



Automatic transmission fluids (ATF) (specification 236.15)

Install piston (15k) in outer plate carrier (15a).

Install disk spring (15t).

 Insert disk spring (15t) in such a way that the curvature of the inner circumference points toward the piston (15k).

Fit retaining ring (15s).

 Installation is only possible when the lever-type hand gun is actuated.

Place outer plate carrier (15a) into lever-type hand gun.

Place thrust device onto disk spring (15t).

  Position thrust device precisely (arrow). This enables later installation of the retaining ring (15s).

Otherwise the disk spring (5t) will jam.

Install disk spring (5t) in outer plate carrier (15a).

 Insert disk spring (5t) in such a way that the curvature of the inner circumference points toward the piston (15k).

Install clutch pack (5).

Install end disk (105).

Install retaining ring (105s).

Measure

Measure and adjust clearance.
