Remove

Shift transmission to neutral position.

Remove stowage compartment under instrument panel.

Adjust

Align bore of gearshift lever and bore of shift gate with each other and lock into neutral position using adjustment tool.



Adjustment tool for shift cable length adjuster

Insert adjustment tool up to end stop.
Otherwise, shift quality will be impaired.

Remove adjustment tool from gearshift lever.



Check the shift mechanism for proper operation.

 The transmission must shift smoothly.

If the transmission does not shift smoothly,



repeat adjustment procedure if necessary.



Install

Install stowage compartment under instrument panel.
