3 | Remove outer oil pump housing (3) | If the outer oil pump housing (3) is not integrated in the rear countershaft transmission cover (1). | |
Observe installation position of outer oil pump housing (3). | |||
4 | Remove ring gear (4) and impeller (5) in succession | ||
5 | Pull inner oil pump housing (6) out of rear transmission housing | Puller | |
6 | Remove shim (7) and guide pin (8) from rear transmission housing | ||
| Clean | ||
7 | Clean all parts | ||
| Check | ||
8 | Check all components for wear and condition | If there are problems | |

Replace affected component. | |||
| Install | ||
9 | Determine shim (7) for oil pump | When replacing components of the oil pump or of the rear transmission housing. | |
Axial play of oil pump housing | |||
10 | Install shim (7) and guide pin (8) in rear transmission housing | ||
11 | Install inner oil pump housing (6) in rear transmission housing | ||
12 | Install impeller (5) and ring gear (4) in succession | ||
13 | Install outer oil pump housing (3) | If the outer oil pump housing (3) was removed. | |
Observe installation position of outer oil pump housing (3). | |||
14 | Install rear countershaft transmission cover (1) with new seal (2) |
