Remove transmission.

 Select procedure according to design and accessibility.
See information from body manufacturer.

Attach transmission to assembly device and set to upright position.

Remove countershaft bearing cap (1).

Remove shim (3) and O-rings (2, 11).

Remove drive shaft bearing cap (8).

Remove shim (4) and O-rings (5, 9, 10).

Remove oil thrower (6).

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (7).



Install

Determine shims (3 and 4) for drive shaft bearing cap (8) and countershaft bearing cap (1).

Use a torque wrench with a drag indicator only.
Otherwise the tapered roller bearing outer race may be damaged.

Drive in radial shaft sealing ring (7) up to contact surface in bearing cap of drive shaft (8).

 Pack the space behind the sealing lip with grease.

Install oil thrower (6).

 The edge-raised side (arrows A) must be visible.
Coat the sealing lip and fill the space behind the sealing lip with grease.

Insert determined shims (3 and 4) into drive shaft bearing cap (8) and into countershaft bearing cap (1).

 Lightly grease shims (3 and 4).

Install new O-rings (2, 5, 9, 10, 11) into front housing section.

 Lightly grease O-rings (2, 5, 9, 10, 11).

Coat bolts (12) with sealant and install countershaft bearing cap (1).

Coat bolts (13) with sealant and install drive shaft bearing cap (8).


The sheet of paper (20) must be wrapped around the drive shaft splining.
Otherwise the radial shaft sealing ring (7) will be damaged.

Install release lever.

Remove transmission from assembly device and place down horizontally.
