Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle.

Release catalytic converter clamp on diesel particulate filter and push towards diesel particulate filter.

 Installation: Check clamp for damage and replace if necessary.

 Pipe clamp, catalytic converter to diesel particulate filter

Release catalytic converter clamp with diesel particulate filter on main muffler and push towards main muffler.

Remove rear engine crossmember.

 The rear engine crossmember remains installed on the transmission together with the engine mount.

Lower transmission slightly until bolt (3) is accessible.

Release and disconnect electrical connector from backup light switch (S19).

Remove bolt (3) and pull backup light switch (S19) out of transmission housing (2).

 Installation: Replace seal.

 Reverse lamp switch to transmission housing

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Check reversing light for proper operation.
