Bleeding | |||
The bleeding described here is basic, it was carried out on vehicles 693.1;694.0 and 695.0. It can be utilized in other types of vehicles.The type of hydraulic cylinder does not interfere in the bleeding, as all are fitted with the same bleeders, including those utilizing the hydro-servo-pneumatic receivers (693.144/195) or hydro-servo-pneumatic boosters.
On 688.2 vehicles, the bleeder is located at the gearbox right side, above the hydraulic line entrance.
The system bleeding carried out using the clutch pedal, besides time consuming, does not present satisfactory practical results
1 | Open the front cover | For the vehicles 397; 682; 688 and 693.
Attention! | Risk of personal and material damage while tilting the engine hood | During the engine hood tilting keep the area clear of people and objects.
2 | Open the hood and actuate the safety latch | For the vehicles 384; 386; 388; 694 and 695.
For the vehicles 695.031; 695.034 and 696.
Danger! | Safety instructions on brake fluid
3 | Remove the cover (3) and connect the bleeding equipment to the reservoir neck (2) | Put the bleeding equipment, supplied with respective pressure, in operation.
| |||
4 | Remove the bleeder plug (6) and install the hose (7) so the fluid is drained to an appropriate container (8) | Collect the fluid in an appropriate container and discard it in an environmentally friendly way.
5 | Apply pressure to the system, open the bleeder (5) at least 45° on the hydraulic receiver cylinder (4) and let the brake fluid flow out until no more air bubbles are in the bleeding tube | Check that the reservoir (2) must not reach the level “B”: In this case, refill the reservoir to the level “A” with specified brake fluid.
6 | Close the bleeder (5) and install the plug (6), remove the hose (7) and the container (8)
7 | Relieve the pressure and remove the bleeding equipment | Fill the reservoir (2) to the level “A”.
8 | Check the operation of the hydraulic clutch actuation system | In the case of deficient operation:Carry out a new bleeding.
9 | Check the system and the bleeder (5) for tightness
10 | Close the vehicle front cover | For the vehicles 397; 682; 688 and 693.
11 | Unlatch and close the engine hood | For the vehicles 384; 386; 388; 694; 695.014 and 695.43.
