Removing and installing left front engine support

Remove left front wheel



Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Remove bottom section of sound-proofing capsule

 Only engine 668.914

Remove front engine compartment paneling.

Remove washer fluid reservoir

 Turn lock lever and raise washer fluid reservoir. Use a screwdriver to press the washer fluid pump off the washer fluid reservoir with lines connected.

 Check sealing ring on washer fluid pump for damage and replace if necessary.

Remove air pump

Detach bracket for air pump from left frame side member

Detach hose clamps (14) and remove charge air hose (13)

 Only engine 668.914

Remove front grill

Unscrew bolt (11) and detach ground cable (12) from left front engine support (2)

Unscrew bolt (18).

 Only vehicles with automatic transmission.

Raise engine using engine hoist

 Raise engine until the weight of the engine is no longer acting on the front engine mounts (10).

Unscrew bolts (5)

Lower engine using engine hoist

 Lower the engine until the bolts (6) of the left front engine support (2) can be accessed from the left-hand side of the wheel housing.

Unscrew bolts (6) and remove left front engine support (2)

 Installation: The locating pin on the left engine support (2) must engage in the recess in the left engine mount (10).

Remove front bumper

 Only engine 668.914

Remove front engine compartment paneling.

Unscrew nut (15) and detach ground cable (16) from right frame side member

Unscrew bolt (17).

Remove front grill

Raise engine using engine hoist

 Raise engine until the weight of the engine is no longer acting on the front engine mounts (10).

Unscrew bolt (5).

 Only unscrew the bolt (5) for the right engine mount (10).

Unscrew bolts (7) and remove right front engine support (1)

 If replacing the right front engine support (1), attach ground cable (16) to new engine support.

Installation: The locating pin on the right engine support (1) must engage in the recess in the front engine mount (10).
