Remove coolant thermostat (1)

Suspend coolant thermostat (1) from a wire in a vessel filled with water

Heat water in vessel on hot plate.

Measure water temperature and monitor the start of opening of the coolant thermostat (1)

Use temperature measuring instrument.

Continue to warm up the water until short circuit valve (1/2) is closed

Use temperature measuring instrument. The short circuit valve (1/2) must close completely.

Continue to warm up the water until main valve (1/1) is fully opened, measure stroke

Use temperature measuring instrument. The main valve (1/1) must be fully opened after 6 to 8 minutes. Replace coolant thermostat (1) if check values are not achieved.
