Remove/install

Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.

Remove poly-V-belt guide pulley.

Remove mixer housing.

Remove windshield washer system washer fluid reservoir and place to one side with connected lines.

Pull off the cap (2) and remove the nut (4).

 Nut, circuit B+ to alternator

Remove electrical line B+ (3) from the alternator (1) and place to one side.

Remove bolts (5).

 Screw, alternator to major assembly carrier/oil filter

Remove the alternator (1).

Pull the alternator (1) forward until electrical connection D+ (6) can be accessed.

Disconnect electrical connection D+ (6).

Remove the alternator (1).

Install in the reverse order.



 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform an engine test run and check the alternator (1) for proper operation.
