Remove front upper engine cover

Remove air filter housing

 Screw/bolt, air filter to cylinder head cover

 Screw/bolt, air filter to air intake pipe support brace

Detach heat shield (1) at cylinder head on the right

Remove underfloor paneling

Remove oxygen sensor upstream the RH catalytic converter

Remove heat shield (1)

Detach contact protection on circuit 30 electric line (4)

Remove circuit 30 electric line (4) from starter (M1)

 Nut, connection for terminal designation 30

Remove circuit 50 electric line (5) from starter (M1)

 Nut, connection for terminal designation 50

Remove screws/bolts of starter (M1)

 Bolt, starter to crankcase/transmission

Remove starter (M1) upwards

Check ring gear at the drive plate for damage and wear

 Rotate engine at center Bolt, crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation.

 Socket wrench bit

Replace drive plate.
