Risk of frostbite to body parts caused by escaping gas and by touching components near the valves when emptying gas cylinders. Risk of poisoning or suffocation caused by inhaling gas.

Remove any sources of ignition.
Protective clothing, safety gloves and safety glasses must always be worn.
Ensure that the work area is adequately ventilated.
When working on vehicles at ambient temperatures over 60 °C, all gas cylinders must be removed.

Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure it with the safety strut.

Remove/install

Switch off ignition

Tilt cab

Remove soundproofing

Remove heat shield (2) of air filter housing

Only when removing the ignition coil for cylinder 6 (T1.6a).

Clean area around the relevant cylinder 1 bis 6 ignition coil (T1.1a to T1.6a) on the cylinder head cover (1)

Mark electrical connections of cylinder 1 to cylinder 6 ignition coils (T1.1 to T1.6) relative to the respective cylinder

Only for removal of a number of cylinder 1 to cylinder 6 ignition coils (T1.1a to T1.6a).

 Installation: Note marking of the electrical connections for cylinder 1 to cylinder 6 ignition coils (T1.1a to T1.6a).

Unclip electrical line of the relevant cylinder 1 to 6 ignition coil (T1.1a to T1.6a) at the cylinder head cover (1)

Disconnect electrical connections of the respective cylinder 1 to 6 ignition coils (T1.1 up to T1.6)

Unlock securing clamp of the respective cylinder 1 to 6 ignition coils (T1.1a to T1.6a) and fold upwards

Carefully pull out respective cylinder 1 to 6 ignition coils (T1.1a to T1.6a) on securing clamp and put aside

 Installation: Coat the affected ignition coil of cylinder 1 to 6 (T1.1a to T1.6a) in the area of the sealing (arrow) with a little lubricant.

Replace insulating tubings (3) of cylinder 1 to 6 ignition coils (T1.1a to T1.6a)

Only when replacing spark plugs.



Clean

Clean slot of the removed cylinder 1 to 6 ignition coils (T1.1a to T1.6a) in cylinder head and blow out with compressed air

Clean removed cylinder 1 to 6 ignition coils (T1.1a to T1.6a)

Install in the reverse order
