Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Raise vehicle.

Disconnect electrical connector (1).

Remove the control unit (5).

 To do this, remove screws (2).

Remove the electrical wiring harness for the NOx sensor (3) from the vehicle.

 To do so, open bracket (4).

 Installation: Check the brackets (4).

If necessary,



Install new brackets(4).

Remove the NOx sensor (3).

 Installation: Apply heat-resistant lubricating paste to thread of NOx sensor (3).

Clean

Clean the sealing surface and thread of the NOx sensor (3) on the exhaust pipe.

Install in the reverse order.

Read out fault memory.

When the NOx sensor (3) is replaced.



If necessary,

Erase the fault memory.



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check for leaktightness when engine is running.
