Remove/install

1

Remove upper engine cover.

 Installation: Do not install the upper engine cover until an engine test run has been performed.

Mark the installation position of the vacuum lines (3) and remove them from the exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve (Y85).

 Installation: Note the markings on the vacuum lines (3).

Seal openings with suitable stop plug.

 Record plug

Release and disconnect the electrical connector (2).

Remove the exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve (Y85).

Remove the cartridge (1).

When replacing the exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve  (Y85).

7

Install in the reverse order.

Read out and delete fault memory.



Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper leaktightness and leaktightness.

Install upper engine cover.
