Removing
1 Identify cylinder liner (1) to timing case.
2 Pull out cylinder liner (1)
3 Take off seal (2).
4 Cover over opening at timing case
to prevent small parts from falling into the timing case.
5 Clean sealing surfaces.

Install
6 Check dimensional group markings (arrows) for internal diameter of cylinder liner (1) and external diameter of piston (3).
When replacing cylinder liner (1) and piston (3), note different cylinder liner heights from timing case.
For code (M32) Dual compressor, the cylinder liners (1) have a shorter cylinder liner height.
W13.30-1079-02
7 Fit new gasket (2) to timing case.
8 Oil piston (3) and offset piston ring end gaps one after the other by 120°
9 Crank engine with cranking device until piston (3) is in TDC.
10 Push piston ring compressor band (4) over the piston rings and press together with the piston ring compressor pliers (5).
11 Push cylinder liner (1) over the cylinders (3) until piston (3) is covered by the cylinder liner (1).
12 Remove piston ring compressor band (5) and piston ring compressor band (4).
13 Align gasket (2) with the tapped holes in the timing case and press cylinder liner (1) down.
