Remove trim panel of cylinder head cover

Remove engine intake air duct hose upstream of air filter

Loosen poly-V-belt (1)

Remove poly-V-belt (1)

When carrying out further operations on the engine or timing case cover, relieve tensioning device (2).

Checking

Check poly-V-belt (1)

Check poly-V-belt (1) for damage and traces of wear, replace if necessary.

Check poly-V-belt in visible area for wear

Inspect tensioning device (2) and tensioning pulley (3)

Check tensioning device (2) and tensioning pulley (3) for damage and wear, replace if necessary.

Install

Fit on poly V-belt (1)

Do not use belt wax or similar products to ensure that the poly V-belt (1) does not suffer from slippage.

Lay on poly-V-belt (1) beginning at the tensioning pulley (3), see:
