Remove

1

Remove fan from hub (4) and place in fan shroud

 Do no remove fan shroud and fan.

Remove screw/bolts (2)

Screw on protective sleeve (5) to thread of hub (4) in counterclockwise manner

Remove the poly-V belt (1)

 For this purpose, pull belt pulley (3) with poly-V-belt (1) over protective sleeve (5) and remove from hub (4).

Unscrew protective sleeve (5)

Check

Check poly-V belt (1) for wear and damage

If wear or damage are present,



Replace poly-V-belt (1).



Install

Install belt pulley (3) with screws (2) onto hub (4)

 Observe installation direction of belt pulley (3). Screw in screws (2) and tighten slightly by hand.

Screw retaining disk (6) onto thread of hub (4) in counterclockwise manner

Mount poly-V-belt (1) on belt pulley (3) and attach on belt pulley (7) as shown

Secure poly-V-belt (1) using retaining clips (8) on left side of belt pulley (7) when viewed in direction of travel

Install poly-V belt (1)

 For this purpose, turn belt pulley (7) in direction of engine rotation and fully mount poly-V-belt (1).

 Once retaining clips (8) reach the shown position (arrow), they (8) must be removed.
Ensure that poly-V belt (1) is seated correctly.

If necessary,



Turn belt pulley (7) further in direction of engine rotation and check seat of poly-V-belt (1).

Unscrew retaining disk (6)

Tighten screw/bolts (2)

 Screw, belt pulley to mechanical fan motor hub

Install fan

Check

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform an engine test run and check poly-V belts (1) for correct movement
