Remove

1

Remove viscous fan clutch and lay in fan shroud

 Do not remove fan cowl and viscous fan clutch.

Remove screw/bolts (2)

Push protective sleeve (5) onto thread of the hub (4)

Pull belt pulley (3) with poly-V belt (1) over the protective sleeve (5) and remove from hub (4)

Remove protective sleeve (5)

Check

Check poly-V belt (1) for damage and wear; replace if necessary

Install

Attach belt pulley (3) with screw/bolt (2) to the hub (4)

 Bolt, belt pulley to hub/bearing housing

Lay poly-V belt (1) on belt pulley (3) and screw retaining disk (6) counterclockwise onto thread of the hub (4)

Attach poly-V belt (1) with two retaining clips (8) on, seen in direction of travel, the left side of the vibration damper (7)

Turn vibration damper (7) clockwise and pull on poly-V belt (1) fully

 If the retaining clips (8) reach the position (arrow), they must be taken off.
Ensure that poly-V belt (1) is seated correctly.

Unscrew retaining disk (6) clockwise

Install viscous fan clutch

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform an engine test run and check poly-V belts (1) for correct movement
