Remove engine compartment paneling

Loosen poly-V belt (1) and remove

 Installation:
Do not use belt wax or similar products.
This leads to slipping of the poly-V belt (1).

 To do this, swivel tensioning device (3) with a  assembly lever clockwise, remove poly-V belt (1) and detention tensioning device (3).

 Installation: Observe poly-V belt (1) routing diagram.

Check

Check the belt pulley profile, the tensioning device (3) and the guide pulley (2)

 Check for damage, wear and dirt; replace if necessary.

Check poly-V belt (1)



Only perform operation steps 5 through 9 for remove/install of clamping device (3)

Remove engine cover

Install engine support fixture

Remove right engine mount

Remove screw/bolts (3s) for tensioning device (3)

 Screw/bolt, poly-V belt tensioning device to timing case cover

Remove clamping device (3) upwards

Only perform operation steps 10 through 12 for remove/install of guide pulley (2)

Open service flap on fender liner in right front fender

Remove screw/bolt (2s) for guide pulley (2)

 Screw/bolt, guide pulley to timing case cover

Remove guide pulley (2)

Install in the reverse order
