Remove/install

Remove upper engine cover.

 Installation: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.

Unclip cable bracket (9) from engine charge air duct (1).

 Clip remover

Release screw clamp (6).

 Installation: Pay attention to the installation position of screw clamp (6) (arrow A).

Release and disconnect charge air hose (5) from engine charge air duct (1) and seal the openings with protective covers.

 Installation: Clean the sealing surfaces with a lint-free cloth.

Remove screws (4).

 Screw, charge air line to chain case cover/charge air pipe downstream of exhaust gas turbocharger

Remove engine charge air duct (1) with boot (7).

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces with a lint-free rag.
Pay attention to the installation position of screw clamp (6) (arrow A).

Loosen screw clamp (8) and remove boot (7).

 Installation: Replace boot (7).
Pay attention to the installation position of boot (7) (arrow C).
Pay attention to the installation position of screw clamp (8) (arrow B).

Install in the reverse order.



Check

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.

Install upper engine cover.
