Remove/install charge air cooler

Remove/install

Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates below the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove radiator locks (3)

Remove bottom section of soundproofing

Remove charge air hoses (110/5) from charge air cooler (110/2)

 To do this, release the safety clamps.

 Installation: in order to avoid leaks, check sealing ring for damage and replace if necessary. Ensure the safety clamps are exactly installed.

 Traces and small quantities of oil in the charge air hoses (110/5) are normal and are due to the crankcase ventilation.

Unclip charge air cooler (110/2) from the lower mounts (1)

Pull out the expansion clips (7) at the desiccant cartridge (5)

Detach desiccant cartridge (5)

 To do this, loosen bolts (6).

Press the radiator out of the lower guide

 Push radiator to the rear

Remove charge air cooler (110/2) together with air scoop (110/9) downwards from the upper mounts (2)

 In order to avoid damage to the air scoop (110/9) when removing it, the bumper cover in the lower area must be pressed slightly forward.Carefully press the bumper cover forwards.

Install in the reverse order
