1 | Disconnect ground lead from battery | ||
2 | Open engine hood and raise to vertical position | Installation: Close engine hood only after performing leak test. | |
3 | Detach charge air hose (8) from charge air pipe (1) | | |
4 | Remove charge air pipe (1) from bracket (5) | ||
5 | Take off clamp (6) | | |
6 | Pull charge air pipe (1) out of charge air manifold (7) and push away slightly | Close off opening on charge air manifold (7). | |
7 | Disconnect electrical connector (3) from intake air preheating element (R21) | ||
8 | Disconnect electrical line, terminal 31 (2) from intake air preheating element (R21) | Mark installation position of electrical line, | |

9 | Disconnect electrical line, terminal 30 (4) from intake air preheating element (R21) | Mark installation position of electrical line, | |
| |||
10 | Remove intake air preheating element (R21) from charge air pipe (1) | Installation: Check sealing ring on intake air preheating element (R21), replace intake air preheating element (R21) if necessary. | |

11 | Remove O-ring on charge air pipe (1) | Installation: Install new O-ring. | |
12 | Install in the reverse order | ||

13 | Start engine and check charge air pipe (1) for leakage with engine running | Visual inspection. |
