Remove/install

Remove engine cover.

Remove cover (1) of left firewall.

Remove exhaust gas recirculation cooler, swivel upwards with connected coolant lines and fix in place.

Detach oil dipstick guide tube.

 Bolt for oil dipstick guide tube fastening

Remove screws (2), remove exhaust gas recirculation line (3) and seal exposed connections with suitable protective covers.

 Installation: Replace seal.

 Screw/bolt, exhaust gas recirculation line to valve housing

Unscrew screw/bolts (4).

 Bolt, charge air manifold to charge air distribution line

Release and disconnect electrical connector (5).

Remove clip (6) with engine wiring harness at mixer housing (9).

 Installation: Attach cable bracket (6) at the same position again.

Remove screws (7) and place bracket to one side.

 If necessary place the vacuum line to one side until the screw/bolts (7) are accessible on the left side of the mixing chamber (9).

Remove screws (8) and remove mixer housing (9).


Secure openings with suitable means against falling small parts.
Parts which have fallen into the charge air pipe must be removed, othwerwise engine damage can occur.

 Installation: Replace seals.

Install in the reverse order.
