Remove/install

Remove engine cover.

Release clamp (3).

 Installation: Check clamp (3).

 Clamp, air intake pipe to turbocharger

Depending on the findings,



Replace clamp (3).

Remove air intake pipe (1) from exhaust gas turbocharger.

Notes on installing air intake pipe on exhaust gas turbocharger

 Installation:
Do not crush sealing ring (2) between air intake pipe (1) and exhaust gas turbocharger.
Parts of a pinched sealing ring (2) will damage the exhaust gas turbocharger.

 Installation: Position air intake pipe (1). When doing so, observe markings on exhaust gas turbocharger and air intake pipe (1).

Disconnect electrical connector of heating element (4).

Remove heating element (4) from air intake pipe (1).

 Do not remove hose to oil separator from heating element (4).

 Installation: Ensure that heating element (4) is seated correctly on air intake pipe (1).

Remove air intake pipe (1).

 Seal exhaust gas turbocharger with suitable protective cover.

Install in the reverse order.



Check

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
