Remove/install

Remove air intake hose downstream of air filter (2) on air filter housing (1)

 The air intake hose downstream of air filter (2) may not be turned in an installed condition at the turbocharger flange.
Dust and dirt particles must not be allowed to enter the air intake hose downstream of the air filter (2).

Unclip electrical line on air filter housing (1)

Detach electrical connections (3, 4)

Hook jump-starting point CN (X4/43) onto air filter housing (1) and place to one side

Pull out air intake hose upstream of air filter (5) on front module (6)

Pry off air filter housing (1) at front from front module (6) (arrows) and pull out at rear from guides (7)

Take out air filter housing (1)

Remove intake manifold pressure sensor

When replacing air filter housing (1).

Remove hot film mass air flow sensor

When replacing air filter housing (1).

Install in the reverse order
