Fill fuel low-pressure circuit on engine with hand pump

Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Fill fuel low-pressure circuit on engine with hand pump

Remove handle (1) from hand pump on fuel filter module (2).

Actuate hand pump on handle (1) with approx. 100 pump strokes within approx. 1 min until noticeable pressure is present at hand pump.

Start engine within about 5 s at the engine start and engine stop button, allow to run in idle, then subsequently allow engine to run at higher engine speeds.


If engine fails to start or only runs for a brief period,


Repeat operation step 2.

Switch off engine.

Screw handle (2) finger-tight into hand pump.
