Remove

Release and disconnect electrical connector (4).

Release screw clamp (3) and remove air intake hose (2) from hot film mass air flow sensor (1).

Seal opening at air intake hose (2) and at hot film mass air flow sensor (1) with protective covers.

Remove screw/bolts (6).

Remove hot film mass air flow sensor (1) from air filter housing (5).

Seal opening at hot film mass air flow sensor (1) with protective cover.

Remove sealing ring (7) from air filter housing (5).

 Assembly tool

Seal air filter housing (5) with protective cover.

Install

Remove protective covers.

Install new sealing ring (7) in air filter housing (5).

 Assembly tool

Slide hot film mass air flow sensor (1) into air filter housing (5).

Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 l

Screw in bolts (6).

 Screw, hot film mass air flow sensor to air filter housing

Slide air intake hose (2) onto hot film mass air flow sensor (1) and tighten screw clamp (3).

 Check screw clamp (3) for damage.

Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 l

If there is a problem:



Replace screw clamp (3).

Connect and lock electrical connector(4).

Perform initialization of hot film mass air flow sensor (1).

If hot film mass air flow sensor (1) was replaced.



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check intake air system for proper operation and leak tightness.
