Remove

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)

Remove rear center and middle lower engine compartment paneling

Unclip electrical line (2) from the bracket (3)

Unclip electrical connection (5) from the bracket (4)

Release and disconnect electrical connection (5)

Remove left oxygen sensor downstream of catalytic converter (1)

Cover sensor tip of the left oxygen sensor downstream of CAT (1) with protective cover

For reuse of the left oxygen sensor downstream of CAT (1).

Install

Remove protective cover from sensor tip of the left oxygen sensor upstream CAT (1)

For reuse of the left oxygen sensor downstream of CAT (1).

Coat thread of the left oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter (1) with heat-resistant lubricant

For reuse of the left oxygen sensor downstream of CAT (1).

Remove screw plug from threaded hole of the left oxygen sensor downstream of CAT (1)

 Commercially available devices/tools
Oxygen sensor screw plug threaded hole M18x1.5 mm

Screw in left oxygen sensor downstream of catalytic converter (1)



Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths

Clip electrical line (2) into the holder (3)

Plug together electrical connection (5) until it locks

Clip electrical connection (5) into the holder (4)

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out an engine test run and check exhaust system for leaktightness
